The difference is the housing / wafer material...
SM3 is made of 46 Nylon glass-filled
SM4 is made of PA 6T Nylon glass-filled and is the RoHS compliant version.
The SM4 is better than SM3 for the higher temperatures required for the lead-free solder reflow process.
